Rec Room/Game Room
A rec room is just a room until your divide the key areas with light suited to your activity. Because of the specific nature of this living space, it's easy to pinpoint what your lighting needs are by simply cataloging your favorite activities.
- Billiards Room- A billiards light not only adds the right amount of light to your table, it lends charm and authenticity to the game room, itself. If you'd rather not commit the room wholly to billiards, hang several pendants or a pendant island light 36" above your table.
- Poker/Card Room- See those cards clearly with pendants suspended 30-35" above the table.
- Exercise/Gym Room-Opt for recessed downlights if you like to use your rec room to work out. You'll achieve plenty of overhead space and proper general ambient lighting.
- Work Bench/Craft Table- If you're a hobbyist who works with smaller tools, you need a light that's easy on the eyes and lets you see details. Consider a fluorescent ceiling light, and supplement this with task lights you can shine on a specific object when needed.
